Year 9 learners at The JCB Academy have recently had a robotics masterclass with Dr Ian Moorcroft FHEA, Associate Head of Engineering: Research, from Harper Adams University. Learners used the academy’s Edison robots to develop their programming and coding skills to utilise the sensors on the robots, making the Edison robots follow a torch light, avoid obstacles autonomously and to stop when it crossed a black line.
