It’s a busy day today at The JCB Academy with the new intake of year 12 learners starting. The new learners start the day off with a welcome by the academy principal Mr Wade and director of sixth form, Paul Stanmore.

Learners will then be assigned laptops, ID badges and email accounts and get to know each other with a quick game of people bingo. After a break for lunch the learners will get to learn about some of the fantastic opportunities available in the sixth form, one of which is this year’s trip to Sri Lanka. Late in the afternoon they meet the learner support team and discuss the arrangements for tomorrows visit to Alton Towers.
