JCB Academy sixth form learners at JCB World HQ

Sixth Form – Operational Excellence Two Day Course

Engineering learners at The JCB Academy Sixth Form have just completed a two day course at the Academy of Operational Excellence which is based at the JCB World Headquarters in Rocester. The bespoke course designed by the Operational Excellence team leader, Darren Moore, focussed on Lean and Quality improvement methods applied in a practical situation to the assembly of a Vibromax VMP14. Taught by Steve Rhodes, Soron Glynn and Darren Moore, the learners enjoyed a unique opportunity to be able to use this excellent Academy based at JCB World HQ which is normally used for training the employees of JCB only.

The learners were taught about many tools and techniques which are used by JCB to achieve operational excellence and then had the opportunity to practice these on the shop floor in the Academy. One of the learners said about the course: “A very interesting two days and a good experience to take forward to any future role in engineering”.
