After an early start we took a domestic flight from New Delhi to Pune and headed for the JCB Engineering Design Centre which is located on the outskirts of Pune. After lunch in the JCB cafeteria with a beautiful vista we were the introduced to the Engineering staff from the facility. We had talks from the following teams: Industrial Design and Concept Development, Simulation and Virtual Validation, Electronics and Software Development, Livelink and Uptime Centre and finally the XP department.
It was fascinating to learn about the differences between the legislation in UK and India that drives the machines designs and how integrated the team at the Pune Design Centre are globally within The JCB business.
