Learners at The JCB Academy celebrate today after receiving their GCSE results.
It’s been a morning of happy and relieved faces as learners at The JCB Academy received excellent and well-deserved GCSE results through some challenging times.
Mrs McGuirk, Principal of The JCB Academy, commented, “It’s been an emotional day here today seeing many students in tears with relief that they have achieved remarkable grades and are now on to the next stage, many starting apprenticeships and an unprecedented number moving on to The JCB Academy Sixth Form. This year will be the first year that The JCB Academy Sixth Form will run the Engineering T-level, a brand new qualification that has become immediately over-subscribed. I would like to pay a special tribute to teachers and support staff who have shown such determination to go the extra mile to support their students and to enable them to make their next steps.”
Top-performing learners include Niklas Baker and Jack Kent (main photo). Niklas achieved an 8 in Mathematics, 7 in English Language, 8 in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, L2D* in Business, L2D* in Sport, and *2 in Engineering Manufacture. Jack achieved an 8 in Mathematics, 7 in English Language, 9 in Design and Technology, 8s in Biology and Chemistry, 7 in Physics, L2D* in Business and *2 in Engineering Manufacture and Engineering Principles. Both learners will be joining The JCB Academy Sixth Form in September. Niklas has chosen to study A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Product Design and Jack has chosen to mix his subjects with a traditional A-level and two vocational subjects, a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business and Engineering, and an A-level in Mathematics.
