Nine of our learners have recently taken part in the FIRST Lego League Robotics challenge at Newcastle College. Learners competed against 18 other schools and won the Best Engineered Robot award. The learners programmed their robot to navigate a course on a challenge table and complete missions/obstacles along the way to score points. Academy learners have experience in programming robots with their recent robotics masterclass from Dr Ian Moorcroft FHEA, Associate Head of Engineering: Research, at Harper Adams University, one of the academy’s partners.
