Day 4: Tuesday 21st February 2017
On the second day in Adelaide, in order to allow Evie, Rob and Jonathan to become acclimatised to the Australian heat, a day in school lay ahead. The JCB Academy learners were welcomed at 08:30 at St Patrick’s Technical College by two of their exchange partners, Mitchell Sowton and Jerome Cook, who took them to participate in a variety of lessons. During this time, our learners were interrogated by the St Patrick’s learners about their lives in the UK. Questions about the weather, school, what sweets they have at home, etc. were directed towards them. In the afternoon, the learners were given the opportunity to spend time in the workshops at St Patrick’s Technical College, welding. At the end of the day, our learners then made their way back to their host families’ homes where they continued to experience the relaxed Australian lifestyle.
