On 16th November we held our annual careers fair at The JCB Academy. We had 16 employers exhibiting in our marketplace and learners were invited into the hall to speak to them throughout the day. In the evening we had over 75 parents attend the marketplace and attend presentations by Mr. Stanmore, director of The JCB Academy Sixth Form, an apprenticeship presentation by Mr. Bailey, Director of Apprenticeships and two of our apprenticeship partners Alpha Manufacturing and Bri-Stor Systems also gave presentations.
Amongst the 16 employers to exhibit at the careers fair were Jaguar Land Rover, represented by apprentices, one of whom was Ashley Hopwell, a former JCB Academy Sixth Form learner who recently won the Midlands’ apprentice of the year.
