Recently, 18 learners from Years 9 and 10 took part in an exciting visit to LAMMA, the UK’s premier farm machinery show, which brings together farmers and pioneering companies showcasing cutting-edge agricultural machinery, technology, and equipment.
Despite an early 7.30 am start, learners arrived full of enthusiasm. Many of those attending live or work on farms and aspire to future careers within the agricultural sector. Invited through their involvement in the academy’s lunchtime Farm Club, learners embraced the opportunity to explore an event featuring over 600 exhibitors.
The visit provided valuable insight into modern engineering, manufacturing, innovation, and business practices, closely aligned with our curriculum and future career pathways. Learners engaged with industry professionals, observed real-world business interactions, and gained a deeper understanding of how technology is shaping the future of agriculture.
Learners have returned inspired, with new ideas on how to raise awareness and understanding of farming and agricultural practices across the academy.
