We are delighted to announce that The JCB Academy has once again been awarded the Gold School Games Mark, recognising our ongoing commitment to delivering a high standard of extra-curricular provision for our learners. This is the third consecutive year that the academy has achieved this prestigious award.
The School Games Mark is a national accreditation scheme launched in 2012 and is facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust. It aims to celebrate schools that demonstrate excellence in the development of competitive sport, physical activity, and wider extra-curricular opportunities, both within the school environment and in the broader community.
To achieve the Gold Award, The JCB Academy was required to meet a detailed set of criteria, which included:
- High levels of learner participation in extra-curricular sport and physical activity
- Engagement in both internal and external competitions
- Development of learner leadership opportunities through sport
- A diverse programme of clubs, trips, and enrichment activities
This award is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and enthusiasm of staff and learners alike.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who have played a part in delivering our extra-curricular programme. This includes those who lead sports clubs and teams, organise trips and visits, and support key initiatives such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the Combined Cadet Force (CCF). Your contributions are vital in helping us provide a broad and enriching experience for all our learners.
We are extremely proud of this achievement and look forward to continuing to build upon this success in the years to come.
