Developing Financial Awareness and Social Responsibility Through Real-World Learning
Our Year 10 learners at The JCB Academy have recently completed the Feed a Family of Four on £10 Food Bank Challenge, a meaningful real-world business and personal finance project that connects classroom learning with community impact.
Learners planned healthy, balanced meals within a strict budget, considered essential household costs, and made informed purchasing decisions. All items were donated to support local families through Trussell, reinforcing the importance of social responsibility alongside financial literacy.
Through this challenge, learners developed key employability skills including budgeting, decision making, problem solving, teamwork, and communication, all essential attributes for future careers in business and engineering.
Thank you to Rayne Precision Engineering for their generous support in helping make this initiative possible, and to our parents and carers for their continued encouragement.
