Employer Partnerships: Real-World Learning, Real-World Impact

Academy schools and University Technical Colleges are built on a powerful principle: education should be deeply connected to the world of work. At The JCB Academy, we take this to heart—working closely with leading businesses to give learners a genuine feel for industry expectations and prepare them for successful careers.

We are proud of our strong links with industry and the wider business community. Our Core Challenge Partners play a vital role in helping us realise our mission:

“Changing lives by developing the engineers and business leaders of the future”.

Together, we embed real industrial practice into our curriculum, offering learners hands-on experiences through immersive projects and genuine business challenges. These partnerships ensure that every learner leaves The JCB Academy ready to thrive in the fast-paced world of business and engineering.

Industrial Challenges: Learning That Goes Beyond the Classroom

Our projects are immersive, hands-on, and business-focused. Learners work directly with industry professionals to solve real challenges, often producing results that exceed expectations. Projects and partnerships are ever evolving, past examples have included:

  • Toyota has run lean manufacturing exercises since 2010, including engine rebuilds and remote-controlled car assemblies.
  • Bosch Rexroth challenges learners to analyse the hydraulic systems used on the London Eye, culminating in expert presentations and a visit to see the system in action.
  • JCB offers global insight, with sixth formers travelling to its factory in Pune, India, to explore international manufacturing and business culture.
